A Hands-On Educational Approach
We are committed to teaching first aid and CPR in a safe and fun environment. We offer open classes monthly in Truro and surrounding areas plus we will cater to groups, by traveling and teaching privately in your environment or location of employment. Classes are interactive, fun and based on hands-on experiential learning.

Certified and Experienced Instructor
Darcy has spent over 26 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and 19 of those years as a Search and Rescue Technician (SAR Tech) with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He is a Primary Care Paramedic, has parachuted from an airplane into the wilderness and hoisted from a helicopter and provided assistance to people in some of the most remote and hostile environments within Canada. As a SAR Tech, Darcy has instructed at the Canadian Forces School of Survival and Aeromedical Training and the Canadian Forces School of Search and Rescue. Outside of the military Darcy has held a Primary Care Paramedic license in Newfoundland and is a Volunteer Firefighter and Medical First Responder within his community.

Our class curriculum conforms to current Canadian Red Cross guidelines. We guarantee you will leave our class with the skills necessary to effectively administer first aid and CPR to infants, children, and adults.

Urban First Aid and CPR Courses
Full Length courses for those who are new to First Aid and CPR or for those who have let their certification expire. Recertification courses are for those who has a current or valid certification.
Emergency First Aid
Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Description
- Satisfies OH&S regs for federal worksites with an ambulance response time < 20 minutes.
- Satisfies OH&S regs for provincial worksites which are:
- Exclusively an office setting OR
- A non-office workplace with:
- 2-25 employees per shift AND located < 20 mins of hospital
- Minimum level of certification required for all care givers per the Nova Scotia Daycare Regs.
Standard First Aid
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Full description

Standard First Aid - Blended
Course involves approximately 8 hours of a self-paced online module followed by one day in class for practical instruction in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills. Emergency First Aid Recertification
Must hold a Valid Emergency First Aid Certification to register. This 1/2 have day course is about refreshing skills taught on the Full Emergency First Aid Course.
Standard First Aid Recertification
Must hold a Valid Standard First Aid Certification to register. This one day course is about refreshing skills taught on the Full Standard First Aid Course including CPR Level C.
Marine First Aid Courses
First Aid courses designed for those who work or play in a Marine Environment.
Marine Basic First Aid
Comprehensive two-day course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. Course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry to teach the required knowledge and skills. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E. Full descrition here.
Marine Advance First Aid
Designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to apply immediate first aid in the event of accident or illness on board a vessel. Participants will gain knowledge of marine first aid equipment, and the transferring of patients from a ship. All aspects of course are focused in a marine setting. Youth Courses
Preparing youth to take on responsibility, by providing them with the skills and knowledge to keep kids safe, happy and healthy while in their care.
Babysitting Course
Offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. Full description here.
